The Entrance
Peggy Sulahian enters every room like someone who learned English last week and social cues never. The accent is thick Armenian, the understanding of American idioms is nonexistent (“I’m not being shady, I’m being 100!” remains inexplicable), and the whole performance has that bewildering quality of someone who is utterly lost but refuses to ask for directions. She is the OC’s most confusing casting, a woman who lasted one season because no one—cast, crew, or audience—could figure out what she was doing there.
The Estate Appraisal
The domain is substantial wealth ($20 million) from… honestly, darling, it’s unclear. There’s no business listed, no brand, just money and the vague sense that she and her husband have it. It’s not Old Money, it’s Inscrutable Money, which could be real estate, could be import/export, could be anything because she never successfully explained it. She doesn’t entertain—she confuses. Every interaction is a linguistic and cultural misunderstanding that makes everyone uncomfortable. The estate is presumably lovely, but we were all too baffled to notice.
The Verdict
Peggy shall be placed in The Lost Wing—a section of the estate where people wander in confusion, unable to communicate or find an exit. She is the OC’s greatest mystery, not because she’s intriguing but because no one understood what was happening. Her core contradiction: she joined a show that requires verbal sparring while barely speaking the language. She was fired after one season, which was mercy for everyone involved.
